I found this place through a friend of mine. She had found it and fallen in love but the location was too far from home for her. Most of our family was from out of state, so we decided that it would be fine for us to do a little traveling too. Besides the money we saved on the venue was more than enough to cover the hotel rooms.
So we planned to go up and meet with Robert, the guy in charge. He was super nice and showed us around while giving us suggestions on how to set things up or where things could be.
There are three different areas that come in the wedding package. An outdoor chapel area right on the edge of a lake. Behind it is a large "clubhouse" building with a porch overlooking the lake. The clubhouse fits up to 120 people, with table and chairs provided. Inside is a fireplace, restrooms, a kitchen with a open counter into the main room, and two other extra rooms. The third area is a large pavilion just outside of the clubhouse. We used it for our cocktail hour, which we wanted to have a very picnic-y feel, with yard games and streamers and what not. I think cocktail hour was my favorite part of the day. There are also woods with trails surrounding the venue, I know that a number of my guests enjoyed walking through these.
On thing that should be noted is that this is a public park. That means that there will be fishermen around the lake, families walking through the woods, and maybe some kids on the playground. THEY WILL NOT RUIN YOUR DAY!! Seriously this place is amazing and well worth it.
